CareMonitor is fully compliant with the My Health Record (MHR) system and integrates using the Contracted Service Provider (CSP) approach. This guide will walk you through the steps to get your organisation set up.

Step 1 – Provide Your Organisation’s HPIO Number

Step 2 – HI Service Validation

Once your HPIO is linked, CareMonitor will enable the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) service for your organisation.
This will allow:

  • Validation of the organisation's HPIO details.

  • Validation of all clinicians’ HPII (Healthcare Provider Identifier – Individual) numbers.

  • Retrieval of each patient’s IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier) number.

  • Validation of Medicare and DVA numbers in your records.

  • Full audit trail of events.

Outcome: Your organisation’s details, clinicians, and patients will all be verified against Medicare and HI service records.

Step 3 – My Health Record (MHR) Integration

After HI validation, CareMonitor will enable the MHR integration in your account.
You will then be able to:

  • View clinical documents from patients’ My Health Record.

  • Upload supported document types to My Health Record (CareMonitor is fully compliant as per the MHR B2B Conformance Register).

ℹ️ We are also working with the Department of Health to enable additional document types in the near future.

Step 4 – Training & Ongoing Support

  • CareMonitor will provide training sessions for your staff covering:

    • How to validate identifiers (HPIO, HPII, IHI).

    • How to access and view patient documents in My Health Record.

    • How to upload clinical documents into My Health Record.

  • Our support team is available to help with troubleshooting and queries.

  • You’ll be kept up-to-date as new features and document types become available.

✅ You’re all set!

By following these steps, your organisation will be ready to securely connect to the My Health Record system through CareMonitor.
